One day, some years ago now, while wandering down a street in Mérida, I had the good fortune to meet Raúl Vogett. He and his crew were working on an old house in the Colonia of Santiago. The work was being done for a Canadian couple who had recently bought the old ruin. Raúl invited me in to check out the remodel which was still in progress. He was cordial and friendly and happy to show me the work that he was doing. I was impressed by the work and the thought and care that was being put into the old place.
I also met Raúl’s lovely and charming wife, Lilian. She works as a real estate agent and property manager. Together they showed me another house in the area that they had restored and that was for sale. It was great to see a finished product and I began to see real possibilities. I could buy an old place, have it restored, and have it professionally managed too!
Ultimately Raúl and Lilian helped me to buy an old house on Calle 59 that needed rather a lot of work. Raúl viewed (inspected) the property with me and assured me that it was a sound investment. The house had good bones and could be remodeled successfully. Lilian facilitated the process of buying the place - They made it all so easy!
I now have a lovely old house (fully modernized!) With a beautiful garden, pool, and fountain. I love having a little piece of Mérida Yucatán and I really enjoyed the process of restoring the casa. I found Raúl easy to work with during the construction phase and he has been a wealth of information all along. He has been willing to take on all sorts of little projects along the way and he keeps the house well maintained too. I feel blessed and I would do it all again.
I am able to rent out part of the house and Lilian facilitates all of that. She and her team provide a very personalized service to tenants - meet and greet, answer questions, maid service, and transportation. Both Lilian and Raúl are easy to communicate with provide an amazing all-encompassing service. I highly recommend them for any and all of your needs as a home owner in Mexico.
When my husband and I first moved to Merida, we were so lost. We had so many things to resolve and on top of that, we had to find a place to live. I had tried two different rentals in the Merida area, and neither one was a good fit. So, we called Yucatan Best Living. As soon as we met Lilian, we knew that we were in great hands. Something about them says that they are trustworthy, professional and just great people. They took a lot of time to show us more rentals, and then we decided to buy. Every step of the way, Lilian has gone over and above what anyone expects from a realtor.
Lilian and her team have been in charge of my property in Merida (3 vacation rental apartments) for almost 4 years now and l can honestly say that they've taken care of it as if it was their own. From suggestions as to how to improve our guests experience, to going out of their way to accommodate to our guests needs, knowing that they are on top of things gives me the peace of mind that l probably wouldn't have with anybody else, especially since l live in the USA and can't take care of my property and my guests personally.
l've heard really scary stories of Property Managers taking advantage of the absence of the owners and using their clients' properties either for personal profit or comfort, but the people at Yucatan Best Living (or just change it to the new name you guys choose) has one of the highest moral standards of anybody l've ever dealt with, and that means a lot when you're entrusting them with so much. Another great asset is that Raul and his crew are always at hand helping taking care of maintenance and repairs so that everything keeps running smoothly for everybody. All in all, some of the nicest, friendliest and most honest people I've ever dealt with, l wouldn't have it any other way!

We were fortunate for being able to meet David in Canada prior to our travels to Merida. Though he was not in Merida during our time there, he has a very efficient and responsive management company. Lillian and Sylvia were exceptional. David, too is super responsive checking to make sure things are going well.
One of the things we really appreciated, being city dwellers, is the ability to cook on a grill. There are two of them on the property, one is right outside the kitchen. Most of our dinners that were eaten in, were grilled; it was a great treat.
One feature we loved was lounging on the back balcony, which is extremely spacious and watching birds in the numerous trees, the fountain below and an expansive swimming pool. We tried swimming one day and although the temperature had been in the high 70s and low 80s, the water in the pool was just too chilly.
We really appreciated the huge grocery store just a block away. They have just about everything you could want.
